Late Offense Lifts Markham to 4-2 Victory
The Markham Wheelwrights defeated the Brampton Florists, 4-2, in Ontario Baseball Association action at Florists Grounds. Markham pitcher Donnie Lynch had a standout performance. Lynch picked up the win for Markham, going 9.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 11 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Ismael Galan earned the save for Markham.

Markham used a timely hit from Raúl Arriola to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Wheelwrights ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Wheelwrights manager Turlough Conner.

The win gives Markham a record of 8-10.
