Cienfuegos's Muñiz to Retire Thursday, August 21st , 1913 The Cienfuegos Elefantes will have to find a new second baseman next year as veteran Antonio Muñiz is set to retire at the end of the 1913 campaign. Muñiz, age 36, is ready for retirement. "Time takes its toll on this old body. I can't do it as well as I want anymore. It's time to hang up the spikes and make way for a younger guy." During his 702-game career Muñiz has batted .282 and collected 442 hits, 2 home runs and 160 RBIs. |
