Super Swinger -- Montes Slams 5 Hits Wednesday, August 27th , 1913 It was a great day at the plate for Natanael Montes. For his San Antonio de los Banos Comediantes, the day was not nearly as good. The catcher collected 5 hits in 6 tries, but his club still came up short in the win column. The Habana Leones snatched the victory, topping the Comediantes by a score of 16-13. "Well that wasn't how it was supposed to end," Montes said later. "I'll just have to do it again and get it right." Natanael Montes hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in a run in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. For the season, Montes is hitting at a .280 clip with 4 home runs, 53 RBIs and has scored 45 runs. He has 99 hits, 36 walks and a .346 on-base percentage.
