Many saw the news coming, but it still came as a bit of a surprise to the sports world when Juan María Ruiz was fired earlier today. The team cited "intellectual differences" as contributing to the decision but refused to go into details. The only thing that is clear right now is that the hunt is on for a new manager. "Juan María was a top-notch manager, he just wasn't the right guy for our team and our situation right now," said a team official speaking on condition of anonymity. The Elefantes spokesman indicated that Ruiz had not been meeting goals set out for him by the team owner. "What's done is done," Ruiz told reporters.
