Speaking after the game, Mexicali Algodoneros manager Daniel Blair said "Díaz had everything going for him today. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement. He was masterful." Díaz rung up 8 strikeouts and surrendered 2 walks in the game. "We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Guanajuato manager Álvaro Trejo told reporters.
