González Gets 5 Hits Thursday, September 17th , 1908 It was a parade of hits for José González of the Glasgow Shipwrights at Shipwrights Stadium. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, González finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Shipwrights to a win, 9-2. "González was really good and we were really bad," groaned Granite manager Ed Caskin. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
