Scanlon Leonard Rockets 3 Home Runs Thursday, August 28th , 1913 Calgary Chargers second baseman Scanlon Leonard had a magnificent game against the Kamloops Fur Traders, rocketing three balls out of Chargers Grounds to help the Chargers win, 10-1. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Leonard went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Calgary manager Matt O'Neill said later. "Seems like Scanlon found his home run stroke today." Scanlon Leonard hit a solo-shot off Tarasio Martínez in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tarasio Martínez in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Tarasio Martínez in the 8th.
