Ricard Smacks 5 Hits for Yodelers Sunday, July 20th , 1913 New Braunfels Yodelers catcher Chris Ricard banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Luling Lavender Stockings, 9-5. He went 5-for-6 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Ricard said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Chris Ricard flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, singled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
