Niño Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, August 12th , 1913 Ángel Niño ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Santa Fe Stadium, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Taos Artists dropped the game, 6-3, to the Santa Fe Hollyhocks. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Niño said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Ángel Niño flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season, Niño has hit 7 home runs and posted a .396 batting average. |
