Best EFBA Hurler Chosen for 1913 Monday, September 29th , 1913 The Eastern Association announced today that Stewart Thomas has been chosen the Hurler of the Year winner for 1913. The Nacogdoches starter had everything working for him this past season as he breezed to a 18-3 record. In his award-winning season Thomas crafted a 1.44 ERA in 237.2 innings with 238 strikeouts and 24 walks. Opposing batters hit .186 against him in his 25 starts. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Søren Fetterlein of the Beaumont Alpinists finished second in voting, while Santiago Ayala of the Tyler Pecan Kings finished third.
