Derry No Match for McClellan
Thursday, August 7th , 1913
The bats were ice cold for the Derry Spuds at The Potato Patch. Manchester Gamblers starter Danny McClellan kept the Spuds cold all day, shutting them out, 2-0. In a fine outing, the 31-year-old hurler allowed 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 3.
"I'm not quite sure what was different today," McClellan admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
For this year, McClellan has chalked up 12 wins and 14 losses in 31 starts with 139 strikeouts in 215.2 innings and a 5.97 ERA.
