Kawakami Breezes to Shutout Victory Saturday, July 12th , 1913 Catano Canoneros pitcher Norio Kawakami blanked the Dorado Defensores, 1-0, at Parquecito de Cataño, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 9 strikeouts. After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club. "I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Kawakami said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
