Díaz Hurls Hormigueros to Shutout Win Sunday, July 27th , 1913 Pío Díaz spun his magic in a shutout victory at Parquecito de Sabana Grande, 4-0, over the Sabana Grande Tramantes. The Hormigueros pitcher put quite a spell on Sabana Grande in a strong performance, allowing 9 hits while totaling 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. "I had a lot of good things working in this one," Díaz said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
