Gardner Tames Zarzas, 5-0 Monday, August 25th , 1913 Theo Gardner shut down the Rio Grande Zarzas, blanking them, 5-0, on 10 hits, ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Juncos Chiringas pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Gardner said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there." Gardner has made 9 starts this season, posting 6 wins and 2 losses.
