Cumana Blanks Puerto La Cruz Behind Wray Thursday, September 4th , 1913 In a remarkable performance, Cumana Atunes starter Konan Wray beat the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, 8-0, in an impressive 2-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Atunes hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Puerto La Cruz manager Egidio MartÃnez said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
