Valencia Parts Company with Skipper Harrigan
Friday, October 10th , 1913
When your team is not doing well, what does a general manager do? You can't fire the team or fire yourself, so you go to the next thing on the list -- fire the manager.
That's exactly what Valencia Industriales GM did today -- he fired manager Kevin Harrigan.
In the press conference, the Industriales GM pulled out all the usual cliches about why change was needed. He also praised Harrigan in glowing terms and said he would remain a vital part of the Valencia organization.
As far as firings go, this was a harmonious parting.
