August's Best WLK Hurler is Fleming Monday, September 1st , 1913 The Westlicher Kreis named the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to Lazarus Fleming of Leipzig Kaufmaenner, who impressed the voters with a glittering 5-1 record in August. The Leipzig star hurler made 6 starts, allowed 32 hits in 52.2 innings, struck out 39 and had a 1.88 ERA.
