Torpeda Blanked by Alvintzi, 2-0 Sunday, September 7th , 1913 Hannes Alvintzi led the Wien Albtraeume to a shutout victory, 2-0, over the Rijeka Torpeda at Jadransko Stadion. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Alvintzi recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Alvintzi yielded 7 hits and had 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Rijeka manager Pedro Sánchez said.
