Amole, Hotaru Shut Out Ayame, 3-0 Friday, August 6th , 1909 Doc Amole led the Aomori Hotaru to a shutout victory, 3-0, over the Morioka Ayame at Ayame Park. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Amole recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Amole yielded 7 hits and had 4 strikeouts and no walks in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Morioka manager Orlando Cruz said.
