Kaneda Tosses 1-0 Shutout Monday, July 6th , 1914 Takeo Kaneda of the Fukuyama Komori overwhelmed the Iga Shinobi and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them, 1-0, on no hits with a total of 3 strikeouts and 1 walk. "Takeo was on quite a roll," Fukuyama manager Bill Quarles said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." This season, Kaneda has worked 201 innings with 101 strikeouts en route to a 17-8 record and a 3.85 ERA.
