Northern League Picks Top Performer
Monday, July 27th , 1914
A hot-hitting week got Shiro Kondo the Northern League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.
The Kamakura first baseman slammed them for a .562 average, 9 hits in 16 at-bats, no home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
In the postgame press conference, Kondo shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that."
This year, Kondo is batting .309 with 108 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 45 times and has batted in 58 runs.
