Shields Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Sabae Wednesday, July 29th , 1914 In an impressive mound performance, Josh Shields of the Aomori Hotaru checked the Sabae Megane-ten on a 4-hitter and held them scoreless. "He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said Sabae manager Jim Foran. "Shields kept us confused the whole game." The Aomori hurler rang up 8 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his 4-0 shutout victory.
