The rain did not keep Vega Alta and Moca from finishing their game.

Vega Alta pitcher Rodrigo Pérez had a large part in his team subduing the Moca Rebeldes, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Pérez, now 10-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs.

Vega Alta used a well-timed hit by Zabulón Alfaro to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Martilleros ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Alfaro told the Vega Alta Observer.

Vega Alta is 42-66 and Moca, with the loss, 43-67.
