The Isabela Quesiteros and San Sebastian Pepinos rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.
Isabela beat San Sebastian on the strength of starting pitcher Guillermo Rivera's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Diego Aguilar picked up the win in relief. Nicolás García took the loss for San Sebastian.
The Quesiteros got a clutch hit from left fielder Fausto García. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Quesiteros.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Rivera. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
Isabela occupies first place in the Liga Hostos Noroeste at 101-39.
