Márquez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Combatientes
Cabo Rojo and Rio Grande duked it out and the Combatientes came out victorious.

The Cabo Rojo Combatientes rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Luis Sánchez to a win, beating the Rio Grande Cotorras, 3-2, at Estadio Juan Rodríguez. Cabo Rojo now has a record of 76-71 with the win.

Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 29-year old first baseman Cristián Márquez had a real shot to win the game. Rio Grande pitcher Ezequiel Vásquez was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Márquez hit a run-scoring single. The Combatientes had a walk-off triumph.

"Obviously, we're happy we came out on the winning side, but what a great game to watch, just as a fan of baseball," said Combatientes manager Dick Hunt.
