Amigos Win Nail-Biter, 2-1

The Guanica Amigos topped the Gurabo Tainos, 2-1, in Liga Hostos action at Estadio Gilberto Martínez. The standout performance belonged to Guanica pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Tibulo Rodríguez. Guanica reliever Tibulo Rodríguez got the win, raising his record to 6-6. Álvar González was tagged with the loss. The Amigos saw their win-loss record go to 77-67. At the same time, the Tainos fell to 71-73.
The Amigos procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Turlough Ureña. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"You play a lot of one-run games," said Guanica skipper Ángel de la Torre, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
