Citricos Roll Past Metropolitanos, 6-2

The Las Marias Citricos wanted a good start from Ross Taylor -- and he delivered one. The result was a 6-2 Las Marias win over the San Juan Metropolitanos at El Naranjal. Taylor, now 17-12, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win gives Las Marias a season record of 77-69.
Santiago Bustamante had a big bases-clearing double for the Citricos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Las Marias leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 37-year old right-handed pitcher José Guzmán and swatted a double to right. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Citricos ahead, 4-0.
"Ross has got a slow heartbeat," said Las Marias manager Pedro Aquino. "He doesn't panic or anything."
