Extra-Inning Win by Esqueletos Over Tejedores
The Vieques Esqueletos did just enough to secure a victory over the Sabana Grande Tejedores, 7-6, in 11 innings at Coliseo Nicolás Pedraza. Nobody did more than pitcher Anastasio Cordero. Carmelo González, 8-6, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Vieques has 3 straight wins, Sabana Grande 4 straight losses.

Vieques used the timely hitting of Higinio Meza to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Esqueletos on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Anastasio is good at sticking to his strengths," said Vieques manager Leo Rosales.
