Behind a solid performance from center fielder Balduino Maldonado, the Toa Baja Jinetes defeated the San German Golondrinas, 6-5. Maldonado went 2 for 4 with 2 triples. He scored 2 times for the Jinetes. Toa Baja reliever Raúl Ballesteros was the winner. His record is now 7-1. Roberto Hernández took the loss. The victory gives the Jinetes a record of 91-53.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 26-year old first baseman Jesús Martín had a real shot to win the game. San German pitcher Roberto Hernández was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Martín hit a 2-run single. The Jinetes had a walk-off triumph.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Martín said in his postgame press conference.
