The Mayaguez Capitanes picked up a win at Coliseo Atlético del Oeste, taking down the Anasco Matadioses, 3-2. Starting pitcher Hortensio Galicia was a big reason why. The Matadioses fall to 12-18 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1913 season.

Had Wilbur May not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, May hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Capitanes.

"We put together a nice win," May said.
