Reyes Absorb 8-2 Loss at Estadio Teodosio Martínez

The Yabucoa Dulceros grabbed a win, 8-2, over the Juana Diaz Reyes at Estadio Teodosio Martínez. Yabucoa first baseman Agamenón Riestra was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Bolívar Maldonado was the winner. He's now 19-17. The loser was 29-year old left-handed pitcher Hayuya Marqués. The Dulceros raised their record to 80-73.
Riestra contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Yabucoa in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Riestra took a slider from Hayuya Marqués and stroked the home run to left-center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Dulceros to leap in front, 3-1.
Said losing manager Francisco Ramos: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
