Matadioses Grind Out 2-1 Win
The Anasco Matadioses, behind a great outing from Premislao Tijerina defeated the Vieques Esqueletos, 2-1, at Jardines de los Matadioses. Tijerina, now 20-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 1, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. The second-place Matadioses lifted their record to 77-72.

Anasco took a 2-0 lead on Pedro Pichardo's 6th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Pichardo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Vieques pitcher José Hernández visibly frustrated.

Pichardo attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
