Amigos Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Golondrinas, 8-7
The Guanica Amigos electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

Guanica starter Raúl Marín turned in a competent performance at Estadio Gilberto Martínez as the Amigos beat the San German Golondrinas, 8-7. Cid Maldonado picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 9-5. Valeriano Partida suffered the loss.

The Amigos were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 27-year old center fielder Florián Bautista landed a big blow. He turned a 1-1 cutter from Valeriano Partida into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Estadio Gilberto Martínez denizens into a frenzy and sent the Amigos home with a thrilling 8-7 win.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Marín said.

The win puts the Amigos at 83-71, while the Golondrinas drop to 80-75.
