Estadio Rolando Figueroa was the site of quite a ballgame.
Starting pitcher Luis Flores pitched well enough to help the Fajardo Insolentes beat the Villalba Mercaderes, 5-4. With this game in the books, Fajardo is 96-61, Villalba 75-81.
The Insolentes were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 28-year old left fielder Juan Coreas landed a big blow. He turned a 0-2 fastball from Pablo Pérez into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Estadio Rolando Figueroa denizens into a frenzy and sent the Insolentes home with a thrilling 5-4 win.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Flores said.
