Caguas Absorbs 7-4 Loss to Juana Diaz
|
The Juana Diaz Reyes withstood a fine game by Caguas left fielder Hashim bin Kareem at Coliseo Adrián Burnías, to upend the Coquis, 7-4. bin Kareem was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Hayuya Marqués picked up the win, lifting his record to 22-14 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Fernando Franco earned his 27th save in 29 tries.
Rafael Santos hit a 2-run triple off Marvin Bernard in the bottom of the third, which put the Reyes in front, 3-2. Santos had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Santos told the Juana Diaz Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
Juana Diaz is now 92-66, Caguas 72-87.
