Despite the rain, the fans at Coliseo Tomás Escalante enjoyed a good ballgame.

Behind a fine performance from Alberto García, the Loiza Vejigantes knocked off the Yabucoa Dulceros, 4-3. García went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Vejigantes. With this game in the books, Loiza is 68-91, Yabucoa 83-77.

The decisive blow was delivered by Donegal Pickwick in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Jobst Klais to win the game for Loiza. The home crowd went nuts.

After the game, Loiza manager Luis Padilla applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
