The Cabo Rojo Combatientes, despite a fine performance by Lajas pitcher Donald Roop, grabbed a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Estadio Juan Rodríguez. Roop allowed 2 runs over 9 innings. Cabo Rojo reliever Jorge Jiménez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Don Forbes was saddled with the loss. The third-place Marcianos have lost 5 consecutive games.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Marcianos allowed the Combatientes to score the winning run.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Cabo Rojo field general Dick Hunt.
