Menestrales Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win

The Las Piedras Menestrales picked up a win at Parque de los Menestrales, dropping the Corozal Mofongueros, 4-3, in 10 innings. Zacarías Pérez was the difference-maker. Las Piedras occupies first place in the Liga Hostos Este at 87-73.
When he batted in the bottom of the tenth, Álvaro Sánchez had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Corozal pitcher Julio Rodríguez was determined not to let him. But with one out, Sánchez hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Menestrales had a suspense-filled triumph.
"This team is real focused right now," said Las Piedras manager Sebastián de León.
