The Utuado Arribenos got a superb performance from pitcher Gabriel Morales, but the Cayey Cornupetas still won the game, 4-2. Morales threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The first-place Cornupetas bumped their record to 86-75.
Tadeo Yerena drove in one run for Cayey. The 29-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Teodoro Morales. It was his 34th RBI of the season.
Said losing manager Louis Gutteridge: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
