Heliodoro Hernández had a strong outing for the Vega Baja Caneros against the Comerio Guabaleros at Parque de los Cañeros. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The Caneros lead the Liga Betances Costa Norteña by 5 games.
Had Roberto Mora not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Mora hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Caneros.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Hernández told the Vega Baja Bulletin.
