El Cafetal was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Maricao Cafeteros and Salinas Pescadores.
The Maricao Cafeteros picked up a win at El Cafetal, downing the Salinas Pescadores, 4-3. On the mound for Maricao was right-hander Esteban Robles, who played a pivotal role in the win. Robles, now 4-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Rafael Morales earned the save for Maricao, his 1st of the year.
The Cafeteros benefited from an error in the bottom of the second inning. Maricao was leading 1-0 when Ofelio Pérez hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Maricao in front, 3-0.
"This was a good win," said Pérez.
The win gives Maricao a record of 17-15.
