Steinbach starter Catulo González pitched well against the Saskatoon Willows at Steinbach Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. The winner was González. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Mateo Aranda. Esteban Hernández was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 10 save opportunities.

Steinbach took a 5-3 lead on José Mendoza's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Mendoza hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Saskatoon pitcher Matthew Dorey visibly frustrated.

"I just trusted my stuff," said González.

The Plains League-leading Mennonites are 44-22.
