Soles Axe Mulos at Parque de Aguas Buenas
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Luquillo-Aguas Buenas ballgame.
The Luquillo Soles topped the Aguas Buenas Mulos, 7-2, with first baseman Ross Simpson playing a big role. Simpson was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Soles in the win. Marcos Gómez, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 6.
Luquillo used the hitting of Tomislav Gorkic to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Soles on top, 2-0. For the game, Gorkic had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Gorkic told the Luquillo Today.
The loss drops Aguas Buenas to 24-13.
