Baltimore pitcher Les German had a large part in his team beating the New York Giants, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Baltimore is now 34-28, New York 23-39.

In the bottom of the ninth, John McGraw came to bat with the game in the balance. And he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single off New York pitcher George Cuppy.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," McGraw told the Baltimore Daily News.
