New York-Pittsburgh Trade Confirmed
Saturday, December 29th , 1906
New York and Pittsburgh made a trade today. In this move, the Giants shipped 22-year old 2B Bob Peterson to the Pirates for 33-year old RHP Kid Camp. The New York GM told reporters, "I think this trade is beneficial to everyone involved, including the players."
His career numbers show Peterson is hitting .167 with a total of no home runs.
In his career. Camp has posted a record of 26-27 and compiled a 2.74 ERA.

Chase and Mertes Traded

The Spiders and Phillies pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 36-year old LHP Isiah Reddick and 23-year old 1B Hal Chase head to Philadelphia in exchange for 30-year old LF Sam Mertes and 24-year old LHP Ed Barry. A source close to Cleveland officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs."
In his 202-game career Mertes is batting .230 with 23 doubles, 11 triples, 2 home runs and 57 RBIs. He has stolen 13 bases and scored 45 times.
