The Utica Half Moons ushered in the 1913 season with a win versus the Oswego Hydropathists at Cookie Cutter Park. The final score was 6-1. Starting Pitcher Carlos Sosa had a standout performance.

Roberto Cortez hit a 2-run double off Josh Kelso in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Half Moons in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Cortez had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"Carlos throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Utica manager Oscar Romero.
