Juárez Lifts Lilac Stockings to 14-13 Triumph
The Rochester-Syracuse matchup turned into a slugfest.

In a game featuring no shortage of runs, the Rochester Lilac Stockings defeated the Syracuse Halites, 14-13. One of the hitting stars was Rochester designated hitter Miguel Juárez. Juárez went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 and driving in 2. The Halites, now 10-4, have been consistent this season. Consistently bad.

Making an impact for the home team was Balbino Fornaris. In the bottom of the fifth, the 27-year old center fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 11-9, Lilac Stockings.

"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Rochester manager Mox McQuery. "I promise you I'm not happy."
