The Alpena Partridges picked up a win at Birds' Nest of Alpena, knocking off the Saginaw Joes, 7-3. Starting pitcher Rafael González was a big reason why. González, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The win puts Alpena at 8-8.

The Joes had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Partridges going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Corey Bull came to the plate. Bull hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 cutter from Saginaw hurler Carmelo Collazo. It was Bull's 3rd double of the year.

"That was a really good outing by Rafael," said Alpena manager Oscar Naranjo.
