The 11-7 Utica win over Syracuse was due in large part to George Wright. The Half Moons shortstop went 4-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Utica relied on the hitting of Matt Porter to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Half Moons on top, 10-6. For the game, Porter had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Porter told the Utica Daily News.
