Mackinac Island Upended by Bad Axe, 2-1
The Bad Axe Stoplights beat the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers, 2-1. Bad Axe pitcher and Bucyrus, Ohio, native Nate Anderson led the way. Anderson, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Brent Forsberg earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

The Stone Skippers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Stoplights going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Julio Vigil came to the plate. Vigil hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 changeup from Mackinac Island hurler Ramón Durán. It was Vigil's 1st double of the year.

"Nate pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Bad Axe manager Mateo Martínez.

Mackinac Island falls to 7-12.
